Cross Country Road Trip!

So Tuesday morning marks the beginning of my move from Tallahassee, FL to Hartland, WI. My projected path is as follows:

Tuesday at 7 a.m. - Leave Tallahassee to arrive in Kennesaw, GA around noon where I will pick up my cousin Jessie. From there we will drive about 30 minutes to Marietta where our Aunt & Uncle live.

Wednesday 1 p.m. - leave GA for Nashville, TN where we will paint the town - dancing on the bar @ Coyote Ugly and singing karaoke at various bars. The following day we will peruse downtown starting with the Country Music Hall of Fame. I also plan to get a little pool time in.

Friday around 7 a.m. - leave Nashville heading straight through to Hartland, WI!

My car is packed up and my house looks awfully empty. Everything is clean and I am nervous/excited to get out of FL.

Bronx Hit-and-Run Death

"Miguel Colon's 6-year-old son was on his bicycle when the pair was crossing a busy intersection at around 6 p.m. According to police, Mark St. Pierre, 36, was speeding at more than 60 miles an hour as he drove through the thoroughfare. Colon quickly pushed his son Sebastian out of harm's way, only to be hit and killed himself, relatives said."

What an incredible story - a parent who gave his life to save his son! That must have been some argument that Pierre had with his wife to go on a rampage like that - even so I couldn't imagine harming innocent people because of an argument no matter how bad it was. I would think one would hurt themselves or the person they argued with.

Another reason why I don't like cats!

"Previous research has shown similarities between cat cries and human infant cries.
McComb suggests that the purr-cry may subtly take advantage of humans' sensitivity to cries they associate with nurturing offspring. Also, including the cry within the purr could make the sound "less harmonic and thus more difficult to habituate to," she said. - Cats Control Humans

I've never really liked cats and maybe that's because I don't like being manipulated! lol. According to this article, I have interpreted that having a cat is like having a crying baby around and I am not ready to have children. I love kids and someday when I'm not so selfish and have financial stability and a secure marriage I will have a few but until then I do not want kids. Besides the fact that I am allergic, I find cats lazy animals that have no real purpose. At least dogs can be trained to lead the blind or defend your home and family from burglars or to sniff out drugs! What are cats good for?

Update

May 2nd - Graduation!
May 9th - Grad Party!

June 2nd - interviewed in Chicago with Hall & Partners....still no word from them.

June 27th - Kenny Chesney concert with Aunt Karen in Pennsylvania. Drove up there with my Dad and hung out with Aunt Karen for a week and a half. She took me to her book club and some 4th of July parties. I saw Grandma and we spent a few days at Aunt Carol's beach house. It was a great trip!

July 9th - American Idol auditions. I was cut after the first round. I am bummed because I thought I was awesome - definitely much improved from before but I psyched myself out and got too nervous so my stage presence was a bit under par. Oh well, there's always next year!

**Coming up**
July 28th - moving to WI! Going to live with Mom until I get a job in Chicago or elsewhere. Heading to ATL, picking up Jessie, then staying at Uncle Dan's, then 2 nights in Nashville, then WI! I'm so thrilled, plus Megan is coming up to WI and will be right down the road!!!! She is going to stay at my Mom's which will be so badass! I'm stoked!!

St. Patty's Day did not bring me good luck!

Ugh - this past month has been awful!!

After that lovely blog post I made, our house was broken into and both my laptop and digital camera were stolen.

Boston was great so I can't complain about that.

St. Patty's day was fun however I got wasted and lost my phone - but it was found...at Jimmy John's! lol. Embarrassing but at least I got it back.

My trip to MI was a bit depressing - I did get to the beach however I got horribly sunburned.

Then after having beautiful weather, it started down pouring and while driving to take care of my sick little brother, some girl pulled out in front of me so I crashed into her! So now I have to get a rental car and wait 5 days for my car to be repaired. At least I don't have to pay a penny.

Then there were issues with my credit hours, however I spoke with both Mrs. Ealey and John today and we are going to fix everything so I will graduate May 2nd as planned! hooray!

Also, our A/C stopped working and now I have to fix it. Plus I still am waiting to hear from University of Dreams about summer staff and I need a job desperately!

Oh and I need to exchange my Twilight calendar for a new one because my jerk of a mail-person bent mine all up.

Anyways, I'm off to watch scary movies in the thunderstorm and relax.

March 17th: St. Patrick's Day!

March 20th-22nd: MI/Cocoa Beach - hang out with Kayla, Kacey, and hopefully Sarah Jean

Kicking an old habit and trying to find a new one.....

So I bought a pack of cigarettes tonight. I just thought I would try it. Just on certain occasions when I'm home completely alone and the weather is nice, I thought I would sit out on the porch and have one. However last night I tried it and it was terrible. It makes me cough, it smells bad, and I just felt gross afterward. So that was a waste of $2.50. haha.

However I did stop biting my nails which is awesome! I bought this No-Bite stuff that goes on clear and matte but any time my nail touches around my mouth I just get this gross taste. It's nasty stuff. So I hope I can keep this up. As soon as my nails all grow out I will treat myself to a manicure!

Don't call it a comeback I've been here for years.....

I've just been an awful blogger. haha.

So I've been watching a lot of TLC's What Not To Wear with Stacey and Clinton. I just gosh darn love it. Except it makes me want to shop and spend money and it makes me realize that some of my clothes are not good for me.

I've also been watching a lot of A&E's Intervention. It makes me scared and worried for my Dad.

My past two weeks have been somewhat uneventful. After my stomach pyrotechnics at Finnigan's I have been laying low and playing it cool. In other words....I have become a recluse. So needless to say I spent my Valentine's Day at home doing at home workout videos and drinking wine and white russians. Except I did get a pretty awesome hairdo! Just like Kristen Stewart - red on top, almost black shadow underneath.

Oh and my birthday party wasn't too bad except for that wretched Matt Hunter who always throws a hissy fit and causes a scene. Oh well. It was an ok time.

I am destined to be old and bitter

Men are shallow and stupid. I looked at Match.com just for fun the other day and every guy described his ideal date as "slender," and "athletic and toned." Now I know I'm not fat, but I sure as heck ain't slender either! I'm hoping I can lose weight before I move to a new city. And hopefully I'll get this surgery that I talked to my Momma about. Then I can start all over. In a city where no one knows me. I'll make new friends, start a new job, live in a new house/apartment. A new life. I can be anything I want to be. I'll create a whole new persona and decorate my apartment with things that inspire me and reflect who I am. I don't know if I want to live with random roommates that I meet on Craig's list. I think I want to spend the extra money to have my own place. Who knows though....we'll see.

My last semester of college!

Yikes, this is it so let's go out with a bang! I landed a T.A. job so woohoo! I will be TA'ing for a speech class and I'm pretty pumped about it. However I was already signed up for 4 classes and now I don't know which class I should drop. Plus Bright Futures now supports small course loads so I only have to take 6 credit hours per semester to be a full time student. Since I only need 9 more credits to graduate I can afford to drop one more class. Here are my options and how I feel about each:

Sex & Gender:
+It sounds super interesting and will hopefully be a fun discussion class with cool subject matter
+I don't have to write any papers!
-It's my only Monday class.

Writing About Advertising:
-Teacher is a B
+Freshman level class hopefully means it will be easy
+It's about advertising which obviously I know a lot about
-I have to write 4 papers, 4 drafts for each which =16 papers! yikes!
-I don't get out until 6:30

Meteorology:
+Easy A
-At a random time so it doesn't quite fit into my schedule

I think I'll go to all 3 classes again tomorrow and and see how it goes and then decide which one to drop tomorrow night.

***Update:
So I didn't finish this post last night and today I did go to Meteorology and decided I would be bored to tears so I will drop that class. Plus I forgot to add HOT EYE CANDY as a pro to Sex & Gender and that beats the easy A of Meteorology. And I dropped the writing class so that's over! Yay.

Tomorrow I have a meeting with John about the TA position and then its the weekend! Woohoo!

Tonight I will read my Sookie book and watch P.S. What a relaxing evening. :-)

I have also been trying to decide what to do for my bday - invite people over and have cabs pick us up and take us to the bar, or throw a party at my house. I plan on shopping around my birthday and getting stuff from Hot Topic and AE because I have coupons and gift cards. I also need some new brown reefs or rainbow flip flops.

Oh and one more thing - my cousin is a genius like me so she came up with the idea to buy gift cards as a way to budget money. Each month buy a gift card for the exact amount you want to spend on groceries, gas, clothes, whatever and then you can't overspend. Publix is the only store I can think of to do that with but maybe I'll think of some others.

2009 has officially begun!

So I had a wonderful Christmas with my mom, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! Oh and my brother and his girlfriend too. It was a very white Christmas in Wisconsin with a few feet of snow on the ground. The snow sparkles like Edward Cullen and I got to wear all of my awesome winter clothes! We snow-boogied down the hills and rode horses, toured cheese factories, shopped, and of course we ate and drank a lot. We also played lots of board games, went to see a movie, went out to eat, and took lots of pictures which will soon be posted on Facebook. I got to watch the Champs' Sports Bowl with the Noles vs. the Badgers and of course the Seminoles were victorious! Grandpa was disappointed but there were no losers that night when we ordered KFC for dinner. Culver's, Leinie's, cheese curds, the Packers, and the Badgers are just a few of my favorite things in Wisconsin. It was awesome and I am so sad that I had to leave.

So New Years is a time to make resolutions and I have a few. When I say a few I mean one because I think resolutions are rarely ever kept and then everyone feels like a failure when they don't achieve their goals. I have more of a "to-do list" than actual resolutions. Here are some things I will do in 2009:

  1. Book a trip to Boston for Spring Break to see Megan.
  2. Apply for jobs and internships for post-graduation.
  3. I'm going to try to stop obsessing over the little things. Don't sweat the small stuff. No more getting angry over the A/C or the dishwasher. I want to be less stressed!
  4. Save money and be awesome!

Classes start on January 6th and I need to drop forensics and possibly intro to atmosphere so I can pick up a sociology class and possibly a communications class. I'm officially bummed that I did not get the internship at Kidd Group. Oh well....now I need to focus on UofDreams campus marketing and getting a job! Yuck. I even started researching cell phone plans for when I have to get my own individual plan and pay my own bills! Yikes! I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.....job, bills, responsibility - oh my!

Oh and I guess another resolution is that I will blog more often! haha. Let's see if I can keep that one.
